Testimonial: Post-Surgical Pain |

HISTORY
November 1999 - Diagnosed with mild to moderate DJD changes of the right hip joint.
December 1999 - The space between the hip joints now none existed and surgery was the only way to alleviate the extreme pain,
January 2000 Surgery was completed successfully.
"The initial recovery (a period of approx. 6 months) seemed to go according to plan. However, the slight pain due to the healing of my body started to escalate to the point that there were times when I had to crawl on my hands and knees.
Revisiting the surgeon he recommended an MRI and Nuclear Medicine testing. All of the tests came back negative.
Returning to my primary care physician he suggested I take VIOXX. The drug gave me bleeding bowls and I had to discontinue it. (It also didn't seem to eliminate the pain. The one thing that helped was Aspirin).
The last effort was in September, now the year 2001, with a shot of cortisone. It helped only for a little while I was told I may have to live with a 'chronic pain'.
Needless to say that this was an added factor to my depression and I was therefore on medication. With David's help my anxiety level has gone down significantly and I am in the process to go off the medication. With the pain almost gone I have a new outlook on life, being able to do every day chores without exhaustion (for instance just to walk to my mailbox to retrieve my mail was an act of labor).
Even though I am 60 years old, that was not acceptable for me. I had heard about acupuncture (my Mother in Germany took treatments for shoulder pains) and found David Cheung.
I started treatments with him in December 2001 walking in with my constant companion, my cane. After the third treatment I walked in, without it.
It has been about one month now since I started treatments and the pain on a scale from 1 - 10, 10 being the worst, has come down from a 10 to a 1 1/2 to 2. I realize it has been 2 years to date since my surgery and will take some doing to get my muscle memory back to where it should be. But I am also confident that David will lead me one the way to full recovery."
